Kentucky Bluegrass or Fescue... What Sod do I need?
Should I do Fescue or Kentucky Bluegrass? This is an age old question. Both make beautiful lawns, but here are a few things to consider:
Tall FescueFescue performs great in full sun and does better in shadier areas than KBG. Fescue tends to tolerate heat better and can go longer without water. Fescue Is the most popular in residential and commercial applications since it adapts well to most soil types and is more durable to lawn play and foot / pet traffic.

Kentucky BluegrassBluegrass is preferred in low to medium traffic areas and has a softer turf due to its finer blades. KBG is not as drought tolerant and can go dormant for long stretches, returning to green when the weather cools or when rain / watering occurs. KBG does not perform as well as fescue in shadier areas, but makes for the best appearance and feel. It is truly a "bare foot" grass at it's finest
